A core base of more than 250 active volunteers enables St. Mark Youth Enrichment staff to plan and facilitate programs and services for children and families. Dozens of volunteer opportunities are available. Join St. Mark Youth Enrichment to help give back to Dubuque's greatest resource: children.
All our volunteers are equally essential to the success of our programs. There are four great ways to make a difference that meet a wide variety of our volunteers' schedules and interests.
Mentors are individuals who are committed to spending time and developing a relationship one-on-one with the same student over an extended period of time. Mentors meet with their assigned mentee a minimum of 1 hour per week (4 hours per month) during our regular program hours at the school sites. Special Activity Volunteers bring a special activity or lesson to our students to enrich the regular program curriculum. For example, students enrolled in a Shakespeare class at Loras College brought 3 classic plays to life for our students. This type of service is ideal for groups, clubs, or businesses that are passionate about their field of interest and are ready to spend some time sharing it with our children.
