More than a personality assessment.

"I've come to understand so much about myself that has alleviated a lot of guilt and shame." - TEAM MEMBER

Many things changed in the world of work after the COVID pandemic.

Things like burnout or finding joy in work have and continue to have a crippling effect on teams, organizations, and communities.

For our team at St. Mark, Working Genius has offered a solution and our team has benefited from it so much.

We've found this model to give our team a greater sense of joy in their work, reduce frustration and burnout, and overall have a greater understanding of ourselves and one other which has promoted a healthier organizational culture.

"If you want to be successful and fulfilled in your work, you must tap into your gifts. That can't happen if you don't know what those gifts are."

–PATRICK LENCIONI, AUTHOR AND CREATOR OF THE 6 TYPES OF WORKING GENIUS

But what is Working Genius?

The 6 types of working genius is an assessment tool and model that transforms how individuals and teams approach work.

Patrick Lencioni’s firm, The Table Group, personally trained and certified members of our team to deliver workshops on this same model that has boosted our team's productivity and overall wellbeing. It's simple, easy to remember, and easy to put to work immediately following one of our workshops.

The assessment identifies each person’s areas where they are naturally gifted and find joy as it relates to work and getting things done. The model can be transformative for individuals and teams to find greater understanding with one another, increase empathy, and provide a foundation of language to work more effectively.

The 6 Working Geniuses are Wonder, Invention, Discernment, Galvanizing, Enablement and Tenacity. The Table Group’s research reveals that we each have two Geniuses as our natural talents and two Frustrations: the kind of work that burns us out if we do it too much.

It is different from other personality and leadership models because of how incredibly simple it is and how immediately it can be put into practice. The benefits of the model are directly connected to developing self awareness, self-management, social awareness and teambuilding skills. It gives you an instant understanding of yourself, insight to how you work, and a model in how to work collaboratively in a team.

"The Working Genius model has taught me that my burnout was caused by a career full of tasks that brought me very little joy, constant tasks that did not tap into my true Geniuses or potential.

The easy to learn, shared language  of the Working Genius has contributed to success as teammates feel empowered, feeling capable of offering more compassion to themselves and empathy to the people we work with.

This encourages us to celebrate what brings us joy and hone in on the skills of others, others who are eager to help offer their Geniuses to reach the common goal."

"It's hard to choose just one reason to love Working Genius. But the thing that was the most immediate and the most profound for me was letting go of my own self guilt and judgement.

I had immediate insight into why some things came naturally to me and why I get so frustrated doing other things! The model is so simple, easy to digest and has immediate application to everyday life and interactions!"
