St. Mark Youth Enrichment’s Beth McGorry recognized for her “dedication and passion” in Ovation: A Tribute to Iowa Women and Girls

St. Mark Youth Enrichment Director of Donor Relations Beth McGorry, CFRE, was recently recognized in the Iowa Women’s Foundation signature publication, Ovation a Tribute to Women and Girls.

McGorry was among several women & girls spotlighted during an area unveiling event hosted at Lincoln Savings Bank in Waterloo, Iowa.

Here’s what McGorry’s tribute said:

You may be surprised to learn that the fabulous Beth McGorry is not a native of Dubuque or Iowa because she’s involved in so many things in the Dubuque area! Beth is a native of Minnesota, but we’re not giving her back! Beth’s smile lights up the room, and she truly cares about those she interacts with. By day, Beth is Director of Donor Relations for St. Mark Youth Enrichment. She shows her love for the kids of St. Mark through her dedication and passion for the work that she does. She goes above and beyond in many ways, one example being she is now one of only 66 professionals who hold the title of Certified Fund-Raising Executive (CFRE). She stands alone in her ability to share stories and inspire the community through St. Mark events like Apples for Students, Legacy of Learning, and Ice Golf.

By night, you may encounter Beth at countless community activities. She consistently says “yes!’ and shows up for her friends, the kids and families of St. Mark, and community members. She has a long history of volunteering with groups like the Jaycees and the Dubuque Optimists.

She also enjoys family time with her dad, three brothers, her beloved extended family, and her new family member Mo, the cat. She’s been known to take long road trips to marching band and ice-skating competitions featuring family members.

We applaud you, Beth, for all that you do in Dubuque!

According to the Iowa Women’s Foundation, each tribute in the publication offers a glimpse into the deeply important and enormously varied ways these women make an impact on their families, friends, communities, and professions.

Family members, friends, colleagues, or community members nominate a woman or girl in their life they wish to honor and celebrate.

Ovation also serves as a resource for IWF’s annual operating funds and enables IWF to accomplish its mission of improving the lives of Iowa’s women and girls. More than 700 women and girls across the state have been honored with a tribute since the book’s inception in 2014.
